I learn something everyday as I walk through this valley and am continually amazed at God’s ability to use others to minister to me at the most unexpected moments. This past week has been one of, if the the most, difficult in my life. It seemed as if everything that could go wrong did go wrong and that the devil was hurling grenades at me. Praise God for pulling me through and for sending words of encouragement and love as he spoke to me through the mouths of his children who were so obedient.

I will expand on the last sentence in a minute but, first, let me summarize the week. From my previous post, you know that I ended up in the ER then hospital. Folks, I am still in the hospital and will be here a couple of days more. After finishing chemo, I became very sick and developed inflammation in the bone area of the still open wound from my surgery back on Dec. 5. The doctors also believe infection exists. More tests are needed before we can proceed. I am refusing to allow myself to wallow in worry. I trust my doctors here to make the best decision. More than that, I have laid this burden at the feet of my Heavenly Father! He is working all for my good and I will praise him forevermore!

Now back to my first paragraph. As I said, I have been through it both emotionally and physically this past week. When things hit the fan my only ability to fight was by praying and praying continually. During this time God used his delegates to encourage me and confirm that he was in the trenches with me the whole time. Examples of this:

My new friend, Kimberly, with Artemis Hair Studio in Houston. Upon learning that I would be in the hospital for an extended period, I realized that I would not be able to go for my wig fitting. When I called her to explain my plight, she offered to come to the hospital on the Saturday before Memorial Day to fit my wig!!! How wonderfully kind is that! She came and spent that morning with me and my Mom and we had the best time!! I a forever grateful to my friend, Kimberly.

My Ex-Mother-In-Law calling and praying over me via phone. I know some of you are going Wait, What? Those of you who know Marcelle McCroskey are not surprised at all. I have not met a women more obedient or loving. When she prays for you, the power of the Holy Spirit rains down. Thank You, Marcelle.

My co-worker, Miss Jackie, who always seems to discern when something is going wrong and I am in need of prayer.

My #goodvibetribe crew! These are my people, my ladies, my besties, the short list. They know who they are and they are always lifting me up in one way or another. Wouldn’t want to do life without them…. they know who they are!

My sons. Chris for sending me a picture of me with the 3 of them. He planned for me to get it Mother’s Day. There was a problem and I did not received it until last Friday….. at just the right time. Chase who posted a message on FB this morning that brought tears of joy. Clay who always hugs me so tight and tells me he loves. They are my and always will be my baby boys!

My Aunt Donna’s friend, Bonda, who played a beautiful song on the piano last night during her church’s prayer time and dedicated it to me. Thank you, Bonda, for being my prayer warrior. I am so humbled.

The lady who cleaned my room yesterday in the hospital. I was snoozing when I felt someone putting a blanket over me. It was the lady who cleans my room, brings fresh towels, etc. As I sat up, she came over and took my hand. She spoke in broken English but I understood most. Basically, she told me that God wanted me to know that he is watching over me. She said “do not worry, or be afraid. He knows that you are worried and he is taking care of you”. Then she prayed for me and then told me to read Joshua 1:9.

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Of course, I cannot leave out my husband. He flew in to see me on Saturday and left this morning. A short trip but one we both desperately needed. Neither of us handle being apart very well and I am already counting the days until I see him. Being away from my family is the hardest part of all of this. I am praying continually that the doctors are able to develop a treatment plan that will allow me to receive it closer to home or be able to travel back and forth more often.

I want to express my most humble gratitude and love to ALL of those who covered both myself and my Mom with continual prayer last week. I literally felt the support of and prayers that were lifted up for us.

At the moment, we are walking in unknown territory with my treatment. The biopsy results will determine if I can start the next round of treatment on time. If I cannot, the list of scenario’s to get me back on track is long. I am told that all of the powers that be are having multiple discussion.

I know someone who knows no unknown territory…. Who already knows how the week will play out and what the plan will be!

I love listening to Steven Furtick at Elevation Church. In a sermon I recently listened to he quotes Romans 8:28 then states “I don’t know HOW but I know WHO!!

Praise the Lord, I KNOW TOO!!

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬
